Gian's project of photographing the Puget Sound riders and passengers comes from simple internet research. While Gian is not affiliated with any news agencies or the media, he has continuously been checking on Kitsap Sun's archive. Particularly in the year 1989. Years like 1988 to 1991 may have drawn into a so-called "old soul" inspiration for whatever reason.
At the time of writing, this project is ongoing. The first shooting at Bremerton and Bainbridge (Winslow) in December 2022. While there may not be any definitive date in mind when the fotografie project will finish its shooting; I might retire from shooting the central route ferry by 2026...

With everyone moving from between cities and towns, this is a "closing time" as one would call it. I have to imagine that the people on the ferry will have a new group of people every several years.
